Please note that all consignments (not per box) are covered by our standard insurance of £50. If you do not request extra insurance cover, £50 is the maximum you will receive for any damage or for a lost in transit consignment.
You can purchase extra insurance cover (available for most items but please see the list below for uninsurable items) at the time of booking. Some carriers will only insure items when they are new and in their original packaging. This is because the manufacturers packaging is classed as the recommended packaging. Any other form of packaging can comprise that safety of the item and therefore the claim. Please also note that if no damage is visible on the outside of the item, then no liability is taken for concealed/ internal damage. Please note that Bicycles or Musical Instruments must be in suitable hard travel cases, otherwise your claim will be rejected.
Our insurance does not cover for any losses incurred by delays in transit or delays caused by customs clearance.
Please also note you can insure an item for its cost of replacement value only and not the sales value. If an item is damaged but usable, any claim will be proportioned appropriately by the carrier to represent this.
We will advise you on your individual circumstances if you wish to contact the office regarding this.
Some services require the value of the extended cover to be marked on the consignment note. You will be advised of this prior to the collection being made, When this occurs it is the customers responsibility. A copy of the consignment note with the extended cover marked on will be required in the event of a claim.
Please do not presume anything when it comes insurance cover. If you are in any doubt, please contact our office and we will be pleased to advise.
